Helping people with drug and alcohol problems
Surrey Alcohol and Drug Advisory Service (SADAS) is a leading local charity providing specialist support and treatment to people whose use of drugs or alcohol is harmful to themselves, their families and communities. We have had considerable success in helping people put their lives back on track.
SADAS has grown rapidly over the past five years and currently has an annual income of over £ 1.5 million, with 50 staff and 40 volunteers providing services across Surrey. This is a challenging area of work and we want to build up our skills to help us expand further.
We are looking for new trustees to join our Board – particularly people with legal, general management and marketing skills. Many of those we help are younger people, and we are particularly keen to attract people from a similar age group, who live and/or work in Surrey.
These are voluntary unpaid posts. You should be prepared to take part in four board meetings a year (normally in Guildford or Woking) as well as supporting aspects of the charity’s work on an ad hoc basis.
