Do I have a Problem with Drugs?

Do I have a problem with drugs?
Four simple questions that will help you decide whether you need to seek help, and places to find that help.
There are a large number of illegal drugs and they affect different people in different ways.

Therefore, one of the simplest questions to ask yourself is:
  • Have drugs ever caused me a problem?
If so it may be worth your while just talking to someone, perhaps over the telephone to check out whether you do need any further help.

Another test is the CAGEAID questionnaire. All you need to do is ask yourself these four simple questions:
  • Have you ever felt you ought to cut down on your drug use?
  • Have people annoyed you by criticising your drug use?
  • Have you ever felt guilty about your drug use?
  • Have you ever used drugs first thing in the morning to steady your nerves or get the day started?
If you have answered yes to any of these questions then you will probably need to speak to a counsellor.
