Service Provided: Supported housing for people, both male and female, who are making a genuine commitment to recover from their alcohol misuse. Support services include: group work, structured key-working, move-on meetings and general advice and information.
Hours: Office hours Mon, Weds, Fri, 9.30am - 4.30pm. Tues, Thurs 9.00am - 6.00pm.
Area covered: Woking and Runnymede plus others considered.

  English Churches Housing Group - Vaughan House
Service Provided: Independent non profit making project for 45 people. Low clinical detox unit, short term dry flats, Social Service assessment unit, long term community based dry houses, open GAS group, dedicated resources for women, relapse support and drop in.

Service Provided: A multi-disciplinary team providing assessment, prescribing services and one-to-one psychodynamic and cognitive behavioural counselling. Newly opened in-patient and day patient unit, out patient groups in Woking and Weybridge. Teaching, training and liaison with statutory and non statutory agencies. Hepatitis and HIV vaccination pre/post counselling and testing. Information, advice, counselling also offered for families and friends.

  Cranstoun Drug Services - Cranstoun House
Service Provided: Residential provision for men and women who require a high level of support and who wish to take part in an abstinence based therapeutic and life skill programme. Emphasis on group work, community living, individual care plan/counselling and accepting a high level of personal responsibility. Priority given to women and ethnic minority clients. Project has disabled access. Length of stay up to 6/7 months. Option to move to supported housing project followed by resettlement and aftercare in the community.
Hours: 24 hour cover plus on call system.

Service Provided: 24 hour manned confidential helpline offering support, advice and information to anyone affected by drug or alcohol related problems. Free face-to-face counselling is available. Relapse prevention groups are held every 1st and 3rd Monday of the month at Epsom offices. Controlled drinking groups also available.

  Greenbank Substance Misuse Recovery Centre
Service Provided: Greenbank provides an intensive therapeutic and rehabilitative service for clients and their families in recovery from alcohol/substance misuse. It offers a multi-professional and psychodynamic approach to care for clients who have abstinence as their goal, mainly through residential, day and follow up programmes.
The wide range of services include; psychoanalytical and psychodynamic groups, cognitive behavioural groups, anxiety and assertiveness management group, individual focus work (eg bereavement, sexual abuse, PTSD), partners' groups, family therapy, relapse prevention groups, one to one and telephone counselling and long term support, including crisis intervention and guest facilities.
Hours: 7 days a week. 7am - 9pm for enquiries.

  Pharmacy based Needle Exchange Scheme
Service Provided: A free and confidential service provided by 23 pharmacies throughout East Surrey. Injecting or potentially injecting users can obtain their own sterile needles and syringes and return used equipment for safe disposal. Walk in anonymous service at participating chemists.

Area covered: East Surrey.
Age: Non restrictive - at discretion of chemist.

Service Provided: Inpatient and day-care programmes. 25 beds, 15 day hospital places. Specialist treatment programmes for most addictions. Referral via GP or self. Ongoing free aftercare support for one year. Free assessment. Primarily a 12 step programme lasting about 28 days following a modified Minnesota model.
Hours: 24 hour emergency service.

Status: Private. Costs available on request. Recognised by private health insurers and the Health Authority under Extra Contractual Referral system (organised via patient's GP).

Service Provided: Dry house long term accommodation for people who have completed a recognised detox programme. After assessment offers 2-3 day trial period to ensure members of the house get on. Some 40-plus beds across Surrey. Can be funded primarily via housing benefit.

  Community Harm Reduction for Young People (CHYP)
Service Provided: CHYP offers a comprehensive service, giving quick access to a full range of advice, support and counselling on drug related issues, plus a prescribing service. CHYP's helpline gives information on all these areas, in addition to housing, education, relationship and benefits advice. CHYP takes self-referrals, or from parents and other professionals. The service is free and confidential.
